Bubble Painting

Well, this was messy. If you do it, I suggest having your table covered in newspaper first. And a great time to do it would me right before bathtime.

You need:

~ Nontoxic paint
~ Bubble mix
~ Paper, preferably slightly thicker paper like cardstock
~ Drinking straws
~ A few spoons
~ Newspaper to cover the table.

We mixed bubble mix and tempera (poster) paint in three cups like this:

Then we blew bubbles into each cup, scooping with the spoon once they got to be overflowing, and plopped them onto the paper:
We used the paint we had on hand because this was kind of a spur of the moment thing, but I'd suggest using watercolors next time. I've seen some liquid squeezy watercolors at the craft store, so we may try those if we do this again. The kids were thrilled with the outcome and had a lot of fun with the process, even though I thought the results weren't optimal. It's not really my opinion that matters here, is it?

Oh, and then they had just as much fun using a medicine cup to make circles. Go figure.
